So we somehow ended up with 90 chickens. I’m curious what the most cost effective feed options are? Or anything budget friendly but still great for the chickens? I would love to grow our own if it’s more cost effective! But what plants/seeds would they need for a healthy nutrition?

Ages range from 1 week to about 16 weeks.

Chicken math at its finest! :gig

So many that make their own feed I hear quit it as it many times winds up costing what feed costs plus, it's a chore to do it.

Someone will possibly come along with their "recipe" but in the meantime, I'd put them all on All Flock crumbles or chick starter crumbles, then have oyster shell in a separate dish for the calcium the hens will be lacking with either. That would be easiest in my opinion for a mixed age flock.

If you live near an elevator they may have chicken feed. It would probably be cheaper than buying at the store, especially since you could buy in bulk.
