Cost of feed

I intend on raising broiler chickens so i wanted to know how much of feed would 20 broiler chicks eat in 6 weeks

Can't help directly -

1) the cost of feed is highly variable, locally specific. No idea what the going rate is in any of South Africa

2) the amount of feed a broiler consumer per day is highly dependenmt on age. Are you asking how much feed they eat between hatch thru 6 weeks, weeks 3-9, weeks 6-12?

3) Are you using Cornish X, or some other meat bird?

The numbers I've seen suggest somewhere around 4kg of feed to get a meaty to 6 weeks, that would be 80kg for the whole flock to that age.

another 2kg to get the bird to 8 weeks, and about a kg per week thereafter.

I DO NOT raise meaties myself, and can't speak from experience - that's simply the oft repeated "thumb rules" offered by governments around the world about typical expectations for raising meat-bird breeds.
