I have currently 2 button quail roos, healthy and active. But I want to get cortournix quails for production purposes as well! I have a 2mx80cm enclosure in my living room with two layers. The buttons and my last living guinea pig (she's very old and were making sure to interact with her as much as possible!) are currently in the bottom part of the enclosure, currently using the top part for storage.
So I'm thinking of using that top part for cotournix quails! A small flock, and with added platforms for extra space and enrichment. So, when one of my buttons inevitably passes away, and my guinea pig as well, we would add a connection between the two layers of the enclosure and expand to the bottom layer as well. So the question is... would a single button quail roo be comfortable with cotournix quails? Or even the both of them?
I also plan on making a flight pen for the quails out in the garden btw, just using this huge enclosure here to its full potential indoors for the winter
Edit: added a photo of the enclosure!
