Cottage Cheese

I've never fed it to them before but my roommate got a salad from Braum's last night that came with cottage cheese and was just horrified...lol I'm pretty sure I've seen people feed it to their chickens before so I had her put it in the fridge. Have any of you given it to your chickens? Did they like it?

Yes, they will it. It is fine in small amounts to feed dairy.

I don’t think chickens have enzymes to digest dairy. If you give them very much it will cause diarrhea.

I have feed some to mine before, but I had mixed it up into some wet feed for them.

Well maybe I'll just let the dogs have it over their breakfast tomorrow then. I'd rather throw veggie scraps to them. They like that better anyway.

My flock has eaten cottage cheese remnants from kitchen scraps before with no issues. They quite enjoyed it.

My birds would organize a hostile takeover of my kitchen if they only knew that I kept cheese stored in the fridge!
