One of my coturnix quails has a hurt leg. I'm not sure whats wrong with it. I've noticed she's been holding her wing a bit funny, but it didn't feel broken or anything. But 2 days ago I found her laying in the rain. I think something is wrong at the hip. She can still move a bit, but uses her wing to support her. She can still move it, and will sometimes push back against your hand, but its very weak. I'm not sure what the normal range of movement is, but her leg seemed like it went a lot farther to the right than it should be able to.

Then it might be dislocated or broken.

Is there anything I can do about that? Is popping it back into place possible, or should I restrain it somehow to promote healing? Or is there any foods or medicines I could give her?
If it is broken, should be easy to tell by running your fingers l
Along the leg to feel for a break. As for dislocation, you should be able to feel for any joints out of place.

For a break, a simple one, you can align it and splint it, keep the quail in a place where it doesn't need to move for food and water.

For a dislocation, I couldn't say how to help there. But i'd think a vet might be best. Doing it wrong could cause more damage.

Thank you, I will try to see if anything is broken or out of place
