My quails are 3 weeks old now, lots of them can be seen with speckled chest. Some have rusty chest but some has one or two dots in it... maybe the feather is not fully in yet?

Are these quails in the focus all roos? Thank you.

If it’s a male there will be a completely speckled chest and females will have a plain chest. You can also press on lower area and if foam comes out it’s a male but it depends how old the quail are. They have to reach sexual maturity to do the press test though

Possibly. It’s been a while since I’ve had to identify male and female quail.

I just looked it up I was mistaken it is the other way around haha

How's your temperature? We are 52 to 80 these days, thinking about the same thing.
Same temps here. Just had a few nights in the mid 40's and I waited for that to pass before I put them outside. They are doing very well. I have no heat lamp on them and they are on a wire floor. They have all their feathers except there are just a few baby feathers on their faces (like yours).

I just stopped the 40w lamp I use at night (indoor 66 to 76 degree), still not introduced the wire yet. This is the first batch ever I've been raised :) Will try to move them outside mid next week when I have the auto waterer.
