coturnix quails dying before hatching

It's my non-platinum opinion, that you may not be setting fertile eggs, or are trying to hatch a coturnix strain that has one or more lethal genes.

If you are incubating your own eggs, in the same bator as the parents, with everything the same and nothing is hatching....There is a 96.995% probability that the set eggs are not fertile.

I'll be happy to help you tweak your home made bator, but the greatest common denominator points to bad eggs.

The original post mentioned that 4 of 5 where dead, not fully developed.. So it sounds like They're fertile... but not making it to lockdown.l

What quail color would carry a lethal gene? I've heard of it for Serama chickens, but that's it.

(COTURNIX) Golden...or what ever you call your designator color of the same. This mix may contain one or more lethal genes as well, as network standard color matches, that result in throw away birds.

The most common denominator, would be "INCUBATOR PROBLEMS"!

I just like to cover all my bases.
