I have a new buff orpington hen with yellow snotty nose, cough, wilted comb and raspy clucking. I think she has a cold. There are no vets in the area that treat chickens, so how can I treat this myself?

Do I have to isolate since she came in with the flock (i.e. they are all flock mates)?

Do I medicate (or feed medicated feed to the whole flock)?

What medication do I give?

All info is much appreciated.

I would isolate and then watch the flock for symptoms.

How old is your hen?

It sounds like she would benefit from some antibiotics..Erythromycin or Terramycin.
You should be able to get at your local feed store or TSC.

Good luck with her.
