I have had two egg bound hens in the last 2 1/2 weeks. They are getting calcium in the form of free choice oyster shell. They also get eggs w/ the egg shells and raw dairy.
They are getting plenty of sunlight so they should be getting enough vitamin D to utilize the calcium they are getting.
I have about 20 hens and 10 egg boxes but they really only like to use about 3. So sometimes they argue about who is going to sit on a nest.
I am wondering if somehow these two hens were interuped while laying and unable to lay???? Is that a possible or likely scenario and if so could that cause them to egg bind?
Thanks!
