After many nervous days around my incubator following a major temp spike, 4 beautiful chicks hatched. The incubator was full of blue eggs... Americauna and creme legbar. The creme eggs were marked and at hatch I determined that I had 3 Americauna babies and one creme cockerel. They are one month old now.

I Really wanted a creme pair but just didn't see the "Creme" mark on any other hatched eggs. I tossed out the rest of the eggs and didn't think much of it but this "Americauna" didn't have fluffy cheeks like the other 2. It just looked a bit different. I've never had either breed so I thought maybe it was an Americauna cockerel thing since the other 2 Americauna chicks appear to be pullets ( by wing feathers.) ANYWAYS my little "Americana???" "Cockerel??" now has a Crested head!? Could it be my creme pullet that I dreamed of during those incubating days?? I don't know how I could've missed the mark on the egg!

Adorable chick!

It isn't an Ameracauna or Easter Egger, they don't have crests. Creme Legbars do have crests! That's a Creme Legbar. Congrats!

It does look like it could be a rooster, but its too early to be sure.

Best of luck!

She is a Cream Legbar pullet. Also the correct breed name is spelt Cream Legbar not Crème Legbar or Crested Crème/Cream Legbar.

Were the other eggs that were "Americana" Cream Legbar mixes, making them Easter Eggers? Or pure Ameraucana which is a true breed?

If they were Cream Legbar mixes, depending on the mix, often the mixed pullets can look pretty close to pure Cream Legbar.

The above chick does look like a pure Cream Legbar though!
