Could my chickens have killed a baby skunk?

I found that something dug a small hole under the hen house door this morning. 4 baby chicks were dead, not eaten. It smelled like skunk. Then I see a big skunk waddle across the yard, into the barn, then into the hen house and then she was on her way across the field. I then discover a baby skunk behind the henhouse DEAD! His head was all bloody and I suppose he could have been pecked, but not sure? Do you think my chickens pecked this baby skunk to death and was the bigger one I saw this morning the mother skunk looking for her baby? I'm just trying to piece together the whole scenario, does this sound logical?

I think it's possible the chickens killed the baby skunk. Mine killed a mole that happened to pop up inside their run...

Anything smallish sized is fair game for chickens. Especially if it tries to run. My birds have taken to hunting mice. It's entertaining until they actually catch them and then I have to turn away. Awful! It's entirely possible that your chickens did the deed. It's too bad you lost the babies in the process. Sorry for your losses.

Mine killed a garter snake! And they didn't even leave a morsel or drop of blood left in the pen. It was disgusting... but they enjoyed it...

I dont have chickens but my 7 ducks the other day had a cat running..They were after her and she was scared...It was funny since its my neighbors cat Molly...Maybe she will stay out of my yard now!!
