Hi,

I have 8 duck eggs in a incubator i dont no wt breed they are or how long the mother duck was on them she was ran over by a haybine and the farmer gave the eggs to me and didnt no wt type of duck she was. i brought them home candled them and they all had nice clean visable vains and little dark spots so i figured they were seven days old by them but not exactly sure ! i have had them in the incubator for 19 days now and they r all still moving in the egg but it should be day 26 and they havent internally piped yet should i be worried! please any advise is appreciated!

When you candle them does the egg look really dark almost black? When my duck eggs are close to hatch they look black inside and I almost can never see them move

ya i candled them on tuesday and could only see a little though the egg. i candled them again this morning and they are so dark i can only see next to the air cell and they are still all moving. i took them out of the turner yesterday and the eggs wabble a little but not very much.

Grats! I have a question about candling eggs. I have a second set of rescued eggs in my incubator. On my last set, when I candled them, there was only one main black spot and all the veins. This time, I have one egg that has 2 black spots, and both are moving. Is this normal? Are their such things as twins?

are the black spot really far apart or close together? if they are close together that could be the eyes depending on how far along in the incubation period they are! if there is two in there they probably wont make it not enough room for them both to grow. .

I wish my camera/video on my phone was good enough to capture it. The black spots are fairly close together but move separately. So, I don't think they are the eyes. I'm going to try to find a better way to candle them and get a better look.
