I don't know if they are "gold" or just "not very breed standard" but I sure do love mine

One of mine looks like your white one with the black cap, and the other two are more brown and look like your light colored one. Mine are also from Metzer.

I have had people comment on posts with pics of mine that they thought they were not Welsh Harlequins. I am sure they are, there is just a big difference between hatchery quality ducks and show quality ducks. My oldest duck is a hatchery runner, but she doesn't look very runnerish at all.

As long as I get eggs, I am not going to stress about it. I think this is only important if you plan on breeding.

almost all of mine except the 1 look just like the 1s i got from mcmurrey in feb. and they where so beautiful! i have seen the pics of yours and i am sure yours are also welsh harliquins

Hope that helps. In the last picture you can see the distinct browns and rust color of the females.

I am not sure I understand your question.

I know that a golden phase can appear from two silver parents, two golden parents will not produce a silver though...I also know that when they are young, their color can go either way until they start establishing feathering...which then shows their true phase.

I have that looks like yours does.. I noticed last night she was getting her wing bars in they look like they will be a blue green... The other two I haven't noticed their wing bars yet.. They both have more silver.. I call the one with lots of light brown ( gold) I have named her "Amy". The two that may be silver aren't as skiddish as her but I will work on her.. They will eat out of my hand.. but she runs..The Two cayugas are little pigglets LOl.. one is freindly and is learning to sit in my lap.. the other is more skiddish but will learn.. They sure do love to play with my watch that I wear on my wrist...
