I was cleaning out the coop this afternoon and found this under one of the roost bars. It was twice the size, I set it aside so I could get a picture and my dog grabbed it and ate half before she dropped it.
I clean the coop everyday so this is from last night. Interesting enough I checked my coop cameras early this morning so I know who it was from. It came out of a White Plymouth Rock. I have had egg laying issues with this girl for about 10 months now. She fell really ill this past spring and after some vet care and isolation she eventually bounced back and was laying regularly for about 2 months. In late summer she started again with some very soft shelled eggs but shortly after went into a molt and hasn't laid since. I believe the molt was good for her as it shut her systems down for a while. After her previous 2 illnesses I believe she may be having a reproductive issue. Can someone help identify what this is that came out of her and a possible cause. Thanks
