From our past Pekin experience, my son & I are guessing that formally known as "Biggey" is a girl. Formally known as"Smalls"is a boy.
Biggey is now Gwenivere & Smalls is now Sir Arthur. She is now smaller than Sir Arthur & very noisy with happy little "purr" sounds to almost quacks. She also is a big time preener. Making sure her face was all perfect. While Sir A. preens but not to Gwen's extent & is quiet. They will turn 5 weeks old on 4-9-14.

If they do turn out to be one boy & one girl, will they mate? Is that normal in the duck world? I am not planning on intentionally breaking. I just know from before, that once our two boys hit duck puberty. Daffy was constantly beating on his bro Affy to reign as Alfa duck & it was hell until we got Bella & Trix. God bless & rest their 4 duck souls!

Thanks for any input!!

Sometimes a pair works it out without a lot of drama, but some drakes are just - well - overly aggressive. Hard to know till the hormones kick in. If he turns out to be aggressive or just overly amorous, look into adopting a few more girls.
