Couple Of New Coop Questions

I'm turning half of my 8' x 16' gambrel roof storage shed into a coop. It sits up on concrete blocks (approx 4-5" off the ground). Do I need to put any kind of predator guard around the base of the coop itself? Also do I need to insulate the "people" door to the coop? NE Kansas winters can be brutal......

As far as predator proofing as long as you have a run and take all measures to secure it the coop will be fine in theory. Now if it is free range then you should take some action insulation will bring u a piece of mind when its really cold
