1. Can I house quail and pigeons together?

2. How much room is needed for 4 pigeon pairs and 6 quail if housed together?

TIA

I would think you wouldn't have any problems with quail and pigeons together, as most quail are ground dwellers, and pigeons aren't. I'm not sure how much room you would need for them. Maybe someone else will come along and help out.

Yes the quail would be ok,unless you have one of those pairs that nest on the ground. Then the pigeon would hurt any quail that got near the nest.

Size depend on type and if they have free flight. A loft 6ft. X 8ft. X 6ft. would hold about 6 pairs.

Yes i agree, are you going to let the pidgies out to fly, if so, it can be a bit smaller, ive seen breeders with really small nursery lofts, however they are allowed out to fly twice a day.
Have the pigeon nest boexes/cages up high too.

They will have an area about 5x10 inside at the end of my barn with an area out side about 10 x 16 .. does the whole front need to be open, I ask this because I have a window that is about 2x4 that I was going to remove for them to enter and exit and then cut a hole at floor level so that the quail come enter and exit also..I like all my birds to have lots of fresh air..but I really don't want to remove a section of wall if I don't have to..

Yes the window opening would be fine, they only need a 8 in. x 10 in opening. Just place a landing board at the opening.

What type of pigeon will you have?

They will be Utility Kings for right now..I may add more later as I have been watching Utube
and have seen some really great looking birds..
I may get some white homers and start a release business,

Just another question how far away if any do they need to be from my chickens?

My silkies have roosted in there with the pidgies though on the floor and I had a pair of light sussex who used to roost up on the rafters with the pidgies,
I had to rehome the sussex as they got nasty with the silkies.
Yes have 2 openings in there!
