I live in NC and it is HOTTTTT!!! I have a playhouse coop. I have been spraying down the tin roof every couple of hours to get an evaporative cooling effect and wetting the litter. I was thinking of buying a green house cover or a trampoline tarp and covering the front so the sun can't shine in as much. I would leave the sides alone so the breeze can blow through. Any suggestions?

It's hot as.................. here!!! I would leave the sides alone the slighest breeze right now does wonders for the soul! Why not spray down the ground under the roof and maybe a piece of shade cloth. Breezes can still get through but they'll have a little more shade

What about one of those 10x10 cheap patio covers. You know, the ones at Walmart that are like $15? Have 4 legs and a white top. Kinda like a mosquito net house, without the netting? Cheap, fast to install, and can take it down and store when not in use? That's what I do for mine. Good luck!!! Steph

Been around 100 for the last 3 days. Bought 3 blue plastic tarps and have them secured by bungie cords to the wire sides of the run. About 4 feet down 2 sides of the run and over the top. Gives them a breeze from the lower 4 feet of the sides and one side completely open. They were always under the coop before but are now protected from the worst heat of the day. Check your local dollar store and you will save even more!

I put in some small "misters". You can get them from your local "mart" store or hardware store. Hook them up to a hose, and turn on only 1/4 turn, so you don't blow out the fittings. Result.. a cool mist over them, and they LOVE IT.
