A few weeks ago I got my bantam chicks at 6 weeks old, they are living in a medium size covered run (much like a rabbit one). I have electric fencing around this run. They are quickly out growing the run and ready for the bigger enclosure . However the larger run has no cover as it's a electric fence , I am worried that if I let them roam free a bird of prey will just eat them up as they are bantams, What can I do?!?! :/. Thank you!

You can cover the run. Sorry, but that's the only effective way to keep raptors from snatching your birds from out of the run. I used to have the same issues with one of my pens. I tried everything- flashing ribbons, flashing pie plates, fishing line grids, about 100 CDs...everything. That side of my yard looked like a discotheque on any remotely sunny day. I ended up having to scrap that pen and build a new one I could use top netting for. I lost 3 birds before I resigned myself to the idea.

I don't think I can scrap a £200 fence!! I live in England and the largest birds we see is sparrow hawks. Could I create a canopy for them or plant a bush?!

I feel like i have stumped you BYC!!! please suggest anything!!
