Was going through my pekin hens nest lastnight checking eggs. Had to take 3 as they had died. Found 1 that had a crack in it, just the shell and baby inside was kicking up a storm. Probably have 2 weeks left before hatch day. I put wax over the crack/dent in it. I think it got cracked when they all had a melt down over me cleaning their water pool and they all jumped on top of her. She's very into sitting on her eggs and dose not get off at all, I had to physically pick her up off the nest to get the bad eggs out. Anyone had a healthy baby from a cracked egg? I'm hoping it makes it!

I've tried beeswax and nail polish to no avail. But I have had successful hatches using liquid skin bandage. One egg was shattered over about 60% of the surface and it still finished another 10 days of incubation.

I have that too, called new skin or something. I just filled the dent in with wax it's smaller than a dime. The rest of the cracks aren't through the shell fully, can't feel them with my nail so I assume they are ok.

I swear this egg I was referring to was almost mushy. but the new skin reinforced it and it also adds an antiseptic quality in case there is some bacteria on the sell.
