Why do people have to be so stupid? I know of no breed that lays more than one egg a day.

I have 8-laying hens available. They are laying VERY well now.. Yesterday, I had 1.5 eggs average collected per hen (no joke) - With 12-hens, I collected 18-eggs throughout the day. Bottom line, I need to reduce my flock size!

They are just shy of 11-months- old. I raised them as pullets last year. I have 1-comet, 2 black sex link, 4 barred rock, 1 Rode Island Red. Would be nice to see them all go to the same person. Price is $8 each. If you buy all 8-I will sell for a total of $60 for the flock of 8.

Email if interested!

We live about 20-minutes east of Downtown Indianapolis off of I-74 east.

I don't think a hen can lay more than one a day. A daily egg is considered a very good layer. I think it's an average of 25 hours to make an egg for the ones who can lay that often. This person is either trying to pull a fast one, or missed some eggs here and there.

When they first started laying, I had a couple of hens that would lay 2 eggs each on some days. I also had a few lay HUGE eggs and some smaller than normal eggs. In the Fall , they took a break for a month and a half and molted. Now, they usually each lay one egg per day. It is rare for any of mine to skip a day.
They were 1 year old last Feb and are EE's.

Yeah, it could happen depending on how she collects the eggs. Maybe she collected in the morning one day and some of the girls laid after she collected. Then the next day she didn't get out there on time and went in the afternoon and those same girls just layed. Technically she got 18 eggs on that day but it wasn't a 24 hour period. So she's telling the truth from her perspective, its just not every day and she's bending average a bit.

I have 5 hens and get five eggs more days than not. My EE has hadn't missed a day in almost two months until last week. Then she took two days off for some reason.

Yeah my two Easter eggers lay every day. Maybe once every two or three weeks they will skip a day

I've had some lay 2 eggs in one day..........not very often at all, and I think it was only once or twice that it happened ( she's the only olive egger I have), now she's slowed down a bit with age though. I have read in places that it can happen, but it usually is a freak thing.

I also had one of my newbies lay 3 double yolkers within a few weeks of each.

I always get an egg a day from my "young" gals. So I have at least 4 eggs a day, sometimes 5 when Goldie decides it's a good day to lay.
