craigslist posting getting flagged

I've been trying to post an ad selling eggs on craigslist in the Madison, Wisconsin area, and some one keeps flagging it. Does anyone have any idea why someone would flag an egg ad? Is it improper, against the rules, what? I've seen plenty of other ads for eggs on the madison craigslist. I'd love to know if I'm actually violating something, or if there is just some moron with nothing better to do than flag ads. Someone flags all the horse ads here too.

I agree that I've seen hens, eggs and animals on CL, but, from the TOS:

Partial list of items for sale and services the advertisement of which is not permitted on craigslist:

* Obscene material or child pornography.
* Offer or solicitation of illegal prostitution.
* Weapons and related items, including but not limited to firearms, disguised, undetectable or switchblade knives, martial arts weapons, scopes, silencers, ammunition, ammunition magazines, BB guns, tear gas or stun guns.
* Items issued to United States Armed Forces that have not been disposed of in accordance with Department of Defense demilitarization policies.
* Fireworks, including but not limited to "safe and sane" fireworks or any destructive devices or explosives.
* Controlled substances or illegal drugs, substances and items used to manufacture controlled substances and drug paraphernalia.
* Alcohol or tobacco products.
* Prescription drugs and medical devices, including but not limited to prescription or contact lenses, defibrillators, hypodermic needles or hearing aids.
* Nonprescription drugs that make false or misleading treatment claims or treatment claims that require FDA approval.
* Blood, bodily fluids or body parts.

It does say HOUSEHOLD pets, not livestock or poultry, and someone is likely interpreting that a bit too rigidly.

It also says that it's prohibited to sell used clothing unless it's been sanitized, and you KNOW that no one follows that.​

If it's in the farm/livestock section it's in the right place. But members of certain animal-rights groups do flag every animal ad on there, as part of thier "helping animals" thing.

Even stretching it, I can't imagine that anyone is trying to claim that eggs are pets, household or otherwise. That's absurd. But thank you for sending that. It just doesn't make any sense. Just want to sell some eggs, I've got them coming out my ears!

Maybe some sellers don't want/need you as competition so they are eliminating you as competition that way.

I don't know why people flag things sometimes. I was trying to sell an old engagement ring on there several months ago and it got flagged off. My husband put up an ad for an aluminum boat and it was flagged off. I don't get it.

I agree that it may be competition. My adds for chicks are always getting flagged and then a add for someone else who has chicks will go up.

It takes lots of flags to pull an ad so it is probably not just one person. The population of the city you are posting in determines how many it takes to pull the ad. Also every time you have a posting removed it takes one less flag to remove the next on till you do get to the point that only one person can remove it. That resets after a while....
