crashed hard drive

Is the drive itself ruined? Why cant it be slaved? you can buy adapters to hook up to existing pcs for around $40. Ive never had a hard drive be totally fractured, but hey anything can happen.


I understand your frustration. My embroidery is also powered and driven by a laptop.

When I fired up my computer, nothing happened but clicks and grinding

I work in a computer shop and SOMETIMES data can be recovered from a hard drive that is clicking. NOT always.

A hard drive is a mechanical thing with moving parts that can and WILL fail.

Some shops have the experience and / or patience to work on a failed hard drive, not all.

I agree, invest in a 12.00 or 20.00 8 gb flash drive and save everything on it. It will save you from this problem again
