I'm just wondering what constitutes a crazy cat lady. Is there a minimum number of cats? Or a certain level of craziness? Can a crazy cat lady have a husband and children at home? Is there an minimum age requirement or can a woman under 65 qualify? Is there a male equivilent?

The foster kitten is staying, so that makes 4 indoor only cats. Does a crazy cat lady have to be feeding at least 6 outdoor stray cats? Does having kids that won't let the cute kitten go to some other home count in the equation?

Please let me know...I think I'm too young and not near crazy enough. I must know.

If you have more cats in your house than you have rooms and you are crazy enough to talk for them and tell other people what they are saying to them, then you can be the crazy cat lady.

I think crazy cat ladies are the ones who have 10+, has names for all of them, house is filled with cat nick-nacks/decorations.. There's the fancy kind and the dirty kind and I've come across the dirty kind more than the fancy kind. The fancy kind is like a rich lady, perhaps a widow, nice house with nice furnishings and has a whole lot of cats with their own names. This kind will possibly put clothes on her cats too. The dirty kind however... Smelly, smelly, smelly! Cats use the toilet all over the place, they rip up everything, she feeds and welcomes strays into her home, and the lady doesn't really mind all the chaos they cause 75 percent of the time. Could be considered a hoarder depending on the extent of the damage caused by her cats and how many she has.
My neighbor used to have 35 cats. Most were strays and she lost most of them, she only has 4 now. I caught 3 of her cats with an animal cage trap and took them to a Buddhist temple up in the mountains. I'm after another one who is rolling around in my mom's herb garden and ruining it! The rest of the cats we're not sure where they ended up. Some have told us another crazy neighbor shot a few of them for making his dogs bark and we've been told coyotes or dogs got them.

My mother-in-law defines crazy cat lady! Let me start by saying, I love her to pieces and couldn't ask for a better mom-in-law. Ok now onto the cats. Originally, there were only 2 siamese cats...then my father-in-law passed away and I made the mistake of getting her 2 new kittens, trying to be a sweet daughter-in-law. Fast forward 5 years and now there are nearly 20 of them

And yes every single one of them has a name. While they are well cared for (and she has fixed most of them), she does breed 2 of the females to supplement her income (and because she LOVES kittens). The money from them then pays for thier food, litter, etc. BUT it's not just live cats everywhere...it's cat plates on the walls, cat pictures, cat door mats, cat figurines, cat towels, cat pillows, cat salt/pepper shakers, even giant area rugs with cats on them..4000 sq feet of CATS!

oy vey!

More cats than rooms would end a 25 year marriage...and would definitely be crazy cat lady territory.

I think one for each person in the house is okay.

So what is a crazy cat dude called, or do they exist at all?
