crazy chicken hatching babies in the middle of winter!

I did not think they were meant to do that.
My silkie decided to go clucky. I'm at university and didn't know but i get a message that my chicken's hatched two babies!
I'm wiping ice off my windscreen every morning. How'd that happen?
My mum separated her from the others really well yet she still managed to acquire a new egg under her a few days before baby #2 hatched. They're not meant to lay when clucky either!

Crazy bloody chickens:
Has fertile eggs
Hatches babies
lays while clucky
all in the middle of winter!

Has this happened to anyone else?

They'll go clucky when they want to, we can't do a thing about it! It's true they tend not to during the winter but some just don't know the rules.
