Hey everyone!
I've had chickens all my life but the last few years I've been the one specifically in charge of the care and such for my chicks. As soon as I got that title I added ducks, and this year I have turkeys. So at 18 I'm running my own chicken turkey duck farm of over 130 poultry all together. Oh and I have 2 pigs. I work at my local Runnings farm store as well so I'm forever asking and answering questions abut poultry. So I guess for my first question I'll go with something easy, I live in nh, and i have a momma duck who decided to nest on my tree line that is only about 3 feet of woods, but acts as an animal highway. Well at about 4 am my dad heard my black swedish screaming so he went out and she was running from her nest. The next morning when I went out there were about 3 eggs that had been broken in half and eaten, but the shells remain. So my question is what kind of animal would move the eggs from the nest, break them in half, and eat the inside and leave the egg? And also not injure my duck in anyway? Ideas? I'm still caging her nest in tonight anyway but figured I'd ask if anyone else has seen that!

and Welcome To BYC! Sorry about your duck nest, you might try posting in the Predator forum for ideas on what could have taken the eggs
