Well I collected the eggs from my courtnix cage a couple of days ago and found a pure white egg that looked suspiciously like a bobwhite egg lol. BUT there are NO BW in my pen. It is impenetrable and there is no way a BW could have gotten in there but, we have some Giant Texas A&M Courtnix in there as well, and I believe that one of them laid the egg because she was the one standing there and it was still warm, I took it from near her bum anywho It is the only egg I have found since they started laying 2 weeks ago that is white. Any thoughts on that?

I have no idea how to put pics up if someone can explain that to me I would be glad to put a pic of the egg up for scrutiny

For pics go to upload above and upload it, then copy the link on your post.

My Pharoah's are throwiing all colors, lots of whites and blue speckled whites and the spotted browns of course. Some weird gray ones two.

I got my first all white egg this week too!

the craziest color I've seen was an olive green egg that was just beautiful. I should gather all my colored eggs together for some photos.

Looking forward to seeing your picture!

Your hen just hasn't put the coloring on it yet. Make sure that nothing is stressing them. I'll usually get an unpainted egg, then the next day I'll be short an egg. Usually it lasts a few days before she'll start laying again. I usually get an unpainted egg when they come back into lay as well.

I believe coturnix can lay different eggs in different shades of color but just in some occasions, most of the time there just speckled and brownish!

The one on the far left near the lower left is the white egg I was posting about but look at all these crazy button eggs! They lay anything from olive green to dark brown. Really beautiful eggs. I was thinking the same thing though about her not really being ready to lay the egg yet. I boiled it and it had a very thin shell. I believe maybe she got a bit stressed and layed it too soon. We have been culling out all the roos and I think she got a wee bit upset. Thanks for all the advice and comments! I would love to see some pictures of other peoples crazy eggs

The olive egg is gorgeous! My buttons have laid a blue one, purple ones and all of the other colors, except one like that! The coturnix are similar, but they play around with the spots more than color shades. The blue or thin white shelled ones, I'm always at a loss with what to do with them. It's pointless to incubate them, but just one every month or so is pretty useless for pickled eggs, lol. I would love to try pickled eggs, but I can't hatch enough eggs for local customers, so eating them is totally out of the question. We are having a block party this summer though. I plan to save up a ton of quail eggs just for the party.
