Cream Legbar - Rooster, fertility & egg eating

Hi,
I have my flock of one rooster and 5 hens. The rooster is constantly keeping his harem together and can sometimes be a bit aggressive even towards me. He seems to be mounting the hens on occasion so I suspect I'll be getting some fertilized eggs. Anyone have good reference to figure out if my eggs are fertilized? I noticed some of the eggs are being eated and I suspect it might be the rooster. Any way to stop this? Thanks

Best way I've found to stop egg eating is to take one of their eggs, blow it out, fill with yellow mustard, and put it back in the nest/pen. Stops my egg eaters first time every time.

In my experience with fake eggs they sometimes figure out and remember which eggs are fake and still eat eggs. Just my experience though.
