Creepy Mites

I was holding my chicken, Teeny (you might’ve heard me mention her before), when I looked closer at her and saw REALLY tiny white-ish mites or something crawling all over her breast. I don’t know what they are and I’m not to worried about it since fall is coming soon, but I do want to know what they are and if they can harm my chickens

Parasites of any kind CAN hurt your chickens because they bite the bird and feed off their blood until they are anemic.

True. I had mites for the first time not very long ago. I started spraying with permethrin spray. I sprayed every crack and crevice, nest boxes inside and out, roosts on and under, walls, ceilings, floors, everywhere in the coop. I finally got rid of them after several sprays. The spray will kill the mites but not the eggs so repeated spraying is essential. I sprayed all of the coops to keep them from spreading.

Hi there. I have two chickens of my own and what I do is use desi dust to stop pests. I also use this spray as well. Do you use any things to stop pests?

At first we had mice repellent, and cleaned the coop often, but after it ran out of the repellent we can’t seem to find any more. If any suggestions, please tell

Would defo recommend desi dust which I am pretty sure you can order on amazon. I am out atm but when I am home I’ll find out the name of the spray for you.

I have 11 chickens, and I just recently figured out more than half of them have chicken lice. It would be very helpful if you told me the name, thank you.
