You all will never guess what I gave my Buff Orpintons that caused them to cower in the corner of their coop.....WATERMELON!!!!!

It took them about 10 minutes to get the courage up to check it out! Once they did, they realized how good it was & gobbled it up! Now, it is one of their favorite treats!

Great stories! My girls were certain that stalks of millet seed were evil incarnate, until I stripped the seeds off the stalk. They will tolerate the stalk itself now that they know it's the producer of the seeds.

Very true. I remember my chicks being petrified of a plate of plain, Greek yogurt. Now, if I open the back door of the house they coming running to the fence to check out what I have. God forbid I should walk by and not put something in there for them. Grapes were also very scary the first time. They didn't want to have anything to do with grapes. Now, they cause rioting in Chickentown.

I gave my babies in the brooder boiled egg for the first time yesterday. At first they were apprehensive but when I checked back in about 30 minutes the egg was GONE...even the shell lol. I did buy some crickets for my sons lizard today....maybe he can share a few with my chicks lol

That's exactly my fear with the crickets (or any of the jumpy-bugs)!!! I was thinking worms before things that could leap at my face and scramble down my shirt.

Tonight, on a very special episode of Chick-TV, La Diva face-off against The Blob (aka a tiny bit of plain yogurt)! With terrifying peas, grapes, worms and millet seed (which I am currently pretending to know what that is until I have time to look it up on the InterWeb), it's bound to be Must See TV throughout the summer! hehehe

Know I get what you've been saying. Chick-o-vision is so much better than any fishtank!
