Hi ladies

I'm mostly done on this very pretty shawl

I was just going to add a little more length, then was reading it grows 1/3 during blocking. I've never blocked anything before and don't know if it's necessary? The shawl seems to drape very well and hangs nicely. So, what's the purpose of blocking and do I need to do it? Would I regret not doing it down the line for any reason? Thanks for your expertise!

Thanks, that's kind of what I'm thinking. It drapes very nice and is fairly warm, so I think I'll leave it be. Plus, I don't have any place to block it while I'm in the hospital, and want to give it as a gift.

Oh honey, I've been in the hospital for the last 15 days, and have at least 2 more weeks to go

. I've got leukemia that's relapsed and I'm having to re-do the inital chemo with all the assorted complications that come with it. At least I knew what I was in for this time, and brought a bunch of yarn and other projects to work on! I started making crochet flowers for the first time and amazed how easy they are! Everything's going to have a flower on it....I'm also going to look at butterflies. Love butterflies and if the flowers are that easy, they shouldn't be too hard either.
