Crocheting a rag rug??

Yup! I am SO making one of these! I can do those basic chrochet stitches..so..it looks pretty easy!

Hey! I remember those. My grandma used to make them out of plastic bags in the '70's. She used to make everyone save their bread wrappers.

Last winter I decided to use up some very old/outdated craft fabrics..this is what I did with the fabric..Rag rugs!! They turned out great..I made 38 or so..I found the ovals easier to do..I donated 15 to a benefit auction for a local family..they sold really well. If there was anything negative about making them, it would be the tearing of the strips and rolling in the balls..I tried not rolling in the balls but that was a mess!!The best thing was even the ugly fabric worked up well. I did notice that people seemed to be drawn to the ones with black and blue in them..???..but so am I. Give it a try..it really is fun.
