Hi all,

My name is Amy and my husband and I own Crooked Brook Farm in Proctorsville, VT. Ours is a micro-micro farm, where we grow veggies and herbs, and cater to our 5 spoiled chickens, our rooster, Fuzzy The Barbarian, our 2 Nigerian Dwarf goats, Honey and Jasper, our ancona, khaki Campbell, and runner ducks, our 2 German Shepherds, Sam and Scamp, and the cat, Her Royal Highness Grand Pooba Ming The Extraordinary. Yup, that is her full name. Her friends call her Ming.
We sell chicken and duck eggs, breed the occasional kid or 2, and will be selling Ancona hatching eggs and ducklings. Still not sure on the time table on that though.
We are now waiting for the snow to disappear (we got 3" last night, yuck!) so we can build our new barn to house everybody in the same place. I am thinking June... I still have 2 feet of snow in my backyard!!
It is great to meet you all, I have been on here for a while, but only just signed up today.

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

Lots of us lurked for a while before joining on to BYC. Sounds like your little farm keeps you busy!!

And still 2 feet of snow on the ground? Hopefully that melts off soon so you can get to that barn building!!

Pull up a roost bar and make yourself at home. If you have any questions along the way, feel free to ask around the forums. Welcome to our flock!

Hi :welcome Amy

Glad you could join the flock! Your micro-micro farm sounds wonderful apart from the snow! You must be very ready for it to melt so you can get going with your barn building. You have a wonderful mix of animals there. Sounds just the kinds of place I would love. I dream of having enough room one day for goats. I think they are a fascinating animal.

Wishing you the very best of luck and enjoy BYC :frow

. It's surely been the year for it. Your cat sounds like our long ago deceased turtle Pokerton Jehosaphat Speederocious - forget the end. My sister named him.

Nice to meet you Amy, hope you enjoy Backyard chickens as much as we do.
