I have 6 day old ducklings of various breeds. Ive been watching their legs closely and noticed everyone is good except my 3 Buff Orpingtons who all have closer set legs that tend to turn in more or less depending on how theyre standing. Two seem to be getting better but my little Buffy girl isn't improving. Her legs sometimes looks normal and she walks pretty straight but sometimes are very crooked, just depends on how shes standing and theyre crooked far more than not

Im feeding Kalmbach Flock Starter 20% which claimed to have sufficient niacin but found out it's a little low at 45 mg/lb. Got them the liquid b complex from TSC and am gonna start that today but I have a couple questions....

-I see it recomended to give the Niacin via a treat so you know they get it all but also read they're too young for treats. Is it ok to give them a couple peas with the b12 at this age or should I put in their food/water instead? Would I need to start giving them grit if theyre eating just a couple peas a day?

-How long should I give the Niacin to start working before starting to think about a brace to straighten those legs? I dont want to wait too long and have them be a permanent issue.

Thanks!

Peas are also relatively high in niacin. I would recommend purée of thawed peas with water for ducklings. As far as the B complex, I hope someone could chime in on the dosage for ducklings.

Could you post a picture of the B complex you have? They are not too young for treats, just provide grit in a separate dish if you administer the B complex over treats.

Its the same as the Durvet one. Is there a danger of them overeating grit? These little buggers eat EVERYTHING lol. Any idea on how long I should wait to see results before trying braces?
