My little EE (chocolate by name) has what I can only describe as a crooked tail feathers. Not sure if its a hen or roo yet. Chocolate is 9 weeks old. I've looked chocolate over and there are no mites and to my knowledge no injuries. Got Chocolate at a feed store where I got all the rest and they are fine. Is there something wrong with it or is it just her/him.

My cousin got some EE from the feed store a couple years ago that had some very interesting things like this going on.I got mine at the same place but not one had anything unusual. One of hers had a mess up beak, one had no tail at all, and another had a spot on its head with no feathers. Want.ed to add that your EE looks pullet to me, and is very pretty

Is his/her whole tail to one side? Is it the tail or just the feathers? I can't tell by the pics. We have a Silver Laced Wyandotte who just holds her tail to one side most of the time. She can and does have it straight sometimes but seems to prefer to have it to one side. This is a younger pic of her but she has definitely not outgrown it! She's the one on the left as if you couldn't tell.

She is a hatchery bird not from a breeder and no plans on breeding her. We just laugh at her. Silly bird!

That's a funny name for it! Our girl is kind of squirrely! We can't have a roo so don't plan on breeding her but that's interesting to know that it has a name and can be passed on. We just thought that she liked holding her tail like that 80% of the time.

it is the whole tail and he/she never straightens it. Glad but sad to know that they can pass on the squirrel tail. If it's a he then he will have to be replaced. If a she then no hatches from her, at least her eggs will be easy to identify. She is my only EE.
