I am having trouble finding the crop in some of my Cornish X. I need some good hints on finding it. I think I got them all out but I am not sure. Is it very likely that I could leave the crop in and not notice it? Or could I have pulled it out the rear with the intestines? I am worried because my brother is giving a chicken I cleaned to one of his culinary arts teachers and I would just die if I learned I had left the crop in that one.

If it looked clean when you looked in there you got it,but the teacher might want some of the inner parts are good to eat,or for fish bait.

If your looking at the bird with feet facing away from you the crop is on the right side. It's very likely that you may have pulled it out when pulling the intestines out. However it normally stays in unless you pull it loose.

If you withheld feed for 12 plus hours you should be fine even if you left the crop in. But it would be bad if food was in the crop...
