Cross beak question

I have a chick that is 5 weeks old and is a cross beak......it's not bad now, but when should I start trimming it to keep it under control? I don't want to let it get out of hand before doing anything.

Usually after the first month or so (correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not very versed in this... never had a crossbeak) they are done worsening.

I wouldn't start trimming it until you noticed the bird having trouble eating. Looks like this little guy can still eat completely normally.

Oh....she/he is eating very well and her/his size is great. It's keeping up with all the other chicks. When the chicks get put outside and into their run I will put a concrete area where it can file its beak down itself.
