Cross bred Thread

I've got a question about sexlink crosses. I'm really unsure if it will work and have struggled to find any imformation about this cross.

Would a cuckoo maran cockerel crossed with a light Sussex hen produce a sexlink chick?

Nope.

You can't use a barred/cuckoo rooster for a sex link cross. The hen has to be the barred parent in a black sex link. If you put your light Sussex hen under a Red/gold based rooster you can get sex link chicks. From the cross you propose, you're going to get all silver barred chicks, regardless of gender.
