Cross breeding f1 to f1

Hi guys! I am new here in BYC.

I am curious about breeding f1 to f1, I read some related topics but im still looking for answers.

I am not trying to be an expert breeder or anything that will describe that im being a smart a**. Im just a curious kid.

Pictures are just for illustration, not mine.

Refering to the pictures below, The f1 females are bred to lay excelent eggs all year round, if I will cross f1/am to f1/bf or f1/bm to f1/af, will the f2 hens retain the characteristics of being an excellent egg layer?
what are the pros and cons that I will face?
I dont mind the color, i am more keen to get an excellent egg layer characteristics.

You should be able to retain laying characteristics from proven layers. The f1/am should be test mated to ensure he is carrying those same characteristics. You will lose all sex-linking with this cross however.

Losing sex-links are ok, I'll raise the cockerels till they are ready to go to the freezer camp.
I guess I really need to test what works or not.
