I have a buff brahma and some red sex links i wsnt to breed , could someone give me the afterfact pics if youve hatched a few or maybe tell me what they'd come out looking like?

I’m assuming your buff is the male and the red sex links are female? That makes a difference. And I’ll assume the Red Sex Links came from a hatchery, not from your crosses or someone else.

I don’t have any photos but maybe I can help some. I’ll put some weasel words and disclaimers in here, but they should wind up somewhere in color between your rooster and the pullets, maybe buff or more of a red-orange.

There are a lot of different ways to make a red sex link. You could have those made by crossing certain regular chicken breeds such as Rhode Island Red, New Hampshire, Partridge Rock, some red chicken for the male and maybe a White Rock, Silver Laced Wyandotte, Delaware, or Rhode Island White for the female. Or they could be based on the commercial egg layers and who knows what genetics are in that mix? So genetically I don’t know what is in her genetic stew other than she has to have the gold gene to be a red sex link. There are a lot of other things that could influence what shade of red and markings and patterns.

A problem with the male is that there are different ways to make buff. He will have the gold gene too but there are other genes I just don’t know about. So again, I don’t know what other patterns or shade type things might be under there. But he will have something that lightens the red color to buff and will give that to his offspring.

So the base body color should be between the colors of the buff and hen, anything from a darker buff to a lighter red, maybe even a red-orange shade I really like. I don’t have a clue what markings might be on the offspring, if any. Any marking swill probably be black, but even that is not a given. Lots of weasel words here.

One thing is sure. THey will not be sex links.

Editted to add:

Something I should have been more clear on. The red sex link hen is almost certainly a mix of different genes for color and pattern. She will randomly pass down genes for any that are not pure (both genes the same). It is highly likely you will get chicks with different patterns and markings, maybe even different shades of red.

That’s why photos really would not help you much. You can get different looking offspring from the same parents and with a “generic” red sex link hen, you just don’t have a real clue what is there to start with. If we knew the exact parents of the red sex link, we could maybe be a bit more specific, but we don’t.
