Heres our one-year old “little black”. Sort of going into it a bit on the old aggressions but still harmless. I was wondering what he is?

He’s a cross for sure. We hatched from my mums eggs but those chickens are gone. His mum was lavender.

I don’t know... I think my mum just acquired them so they were what they were. I was not the enthusiast I am today back then

Looks like a Cochin cross to me. The lacing on those buff laced Polish is excellent, by the way. I wish I could find some like that again.

Thanks! You might be right - had a mag I hadn’t opened yet right next to me all along with a Cochin special. Dead ringer with the flame effect red/orange/black feathers

Those are actually Brahmas-- pea combs. Cochins are similar with single combs, like yours. But the color is right-- both Cochins and Brahmas come in the partridge variety, so I think your is probably a partridge Cochin cross. He's a handsome fellow.

Ah gotcha. Funny because his brothers were either black and white or black and tan. So we kept the one that kept the red
