Hello! So, I love blue and lavender/self blue breeds. I was hoping some of you out there would share photos of blue breeds that you've crossed. I have several breeds that are self blue and I'm curious about crossing them. I have:
Blue Andalusian
Lavender Orpingtons
Lavender Isbar
Lavender Langshans
And I've recently crossed a black sexlink with a blue and red Ameraucana and ended up with the cutest blue chick.

Have you ever crossed blue breeds? Share You pictures and breed info please. Would love to see them.

This is the cross I mentioned above. It's now grown into a solid medium gray color with black lacing.

Lavender takes two copies of the gene to express, so remember that when crossing a lav to a blue bird (which shouldn't carry lavender), you likely won't get any lavender chicks, only blue or black.

It's generally not advised to cross Lavender into a blue line as it can hide and pop up and make things confusing down the line. I'm attempting to remove it from my line of black/blue Araucana but it's going to take several years since it can hide unseen for generations.
