Can they mate with other type ducks, say like a rouen? The reason I'm asking is that I bought eggs earlier this year and only got two to hatch and it's looking like they are both males.

Yes they can breed with all the mallard derived ducks which I think is everything but muscovies Someone correct me if I am wrong. We have a Call duck/Runner duck cross right now.

I have a Runner-Pekin. It actually came out looking like a Mallard. Up until recently I was convinced it was part or all Mallard. He was my surprise duckling that hatched, and is the sweetest thing ever.

lol I already had this copied from another post so here he is...

Sully is the obvious dark one. He has beautiful markings on his face.

I have a bunch of Runner/Mallard and Runner/Pekin crosses. Most of the time they end up taller and lighter than the Mallards or Pekins, although I have had some end up with Runner coloring and Mallard bodies, but not very often. The duck that just hatched 9 ducklings is a Mallard/Runner and a fantastic broody.

Thanks. I may give this a try. I'm wanting grey runners but with the terrible luck I had with hatching eggs I thought I might try to breed some up.

I have three beautiful grey Runners, they are a cross of my Chocolate and my White Runner. I have babies hatching right as we speak too, from Hershey the Chocolate Runner.

I had some runners, pekins and rouens. Somehow I ended up with a pair of ducklings that looked exactly like Blue Swedish. I'm not sure of their exact parentage.
