Crowing age for roo

I depends on the rooster. My little Japanese(alpha) crowed before 5 weeks and the bantam Wyandotte(2nd) just crowed today at 13 weeks. My alpha silkie (Julep) didn't crow until after the other one(Mister) did, at about 10 weeks, but is still top dog. I do think they all crow at some point.

My Polish just started crowing at 9 weeks. The first time was a few days ago, then he waited a couple of days, now he crows several times a day. It is fun to watch him get ready for a crow. He gets on the highest point in the run, ruffles his feathers, flaps his wings, stretches his neck way up, and then he crows. So cute.

We heard our first crow around 9 weeks or so. I have a 14 week old Jersey Giant Roo who hasn't even attempted to crow. We have quite a few roos right now (dual-purpose breeds, all but 3 will be butchered) and think that there a few more that are not crowing, but maybe it is because they are submitting to the more dominant roos. My JG roo though is huge and holds his own just fine, but doesn't seem interested in crowing yet (if only it would stay that way!

I have had them start as early as 4 weeks old. Right now I have 4 cockerels at about 12 weeks old and all are crowing on a regular basis. They sound funny because they are still working out the kinks. I blame my older roos for teaching them bad habits at such an early age
