I have a Chicken that hatched on April Fools day, Momma was what I think is a EE since it lays blue eggs. Her name is Leon since I thought she was a he. Daddy is big Cletis (mix). Momma who sat the egg is Gertie my OE BB red...
This one hatched yellow, dark yellow beak and legs, thick legs and big feed. It is now getting speckled yellow/black-brownish wings, extremely feisty from the get go. Not knowing what sex it would be I called s/he Foolzer, as in Fools her (as in fools me). Well believe it or not at a week old I was hearing crowing early in the mornings...first I was...nah...couldn't be...but it is. They are in a big rubbermaid bin with screen top in the house. I am trying to catch this on video since I have never heard a chick crow that was not under 3 months old.
Anyone else have a chick crow consistently every morning this young??
