Crowing question

Are they supposed to sound all screechy and funny when they first start?
And do they get better at it?
My Buff sounds like someone stepped on his wind pipe, its kinda funny, but after a while a little annoying ^^;

Yes, they do sound like that (ugh...never thought I'd actually like the sound of crowing until I heard the "I'm-learning-to-crow" crow.

Oh hey do they calm down with the crowing around a certain age? Because they have screechy crowing battles all the time to?

NOPE. At least not for me. I have 3 roosters. And they have crowing wars all the time.

My roo is just starting to crow, and he sounds the same way, but they do get better at it!

Sorry. I love to hear them. When they crow when I am outside I tell them thank you I appreciate it. I love my chickens.

Oh I love it to, I keep hollering "try again!" Or "That one sounded better!" I just hoped they would calm down about it XD
