I want to switch to pellets, they have always had the crumbles. Each time I try to switch the lady at the feed store talks me out of it. She says "they won't like it". I wonder is she just saying that because a lot of food is wasted with the crumbles so I end up buying more.

I honestly have better luck with crumbles. I accidentally bought pellets once and my girls didn't like them at all. They eventually did eat them, but the bag lasted forever and I had to feed them other stuff to keep their weight up. I just got crumbles again and they are so happy. The fine gritty crumbles mixed with warm water make a mash that they all dive for...so you don't have to waste any of it.

I just switched to the pellets for my leg horn hens.
They wasted way too much when feeding the crumbles. The crumbles was more like powder. There would be a few pieces but most of it was total mashed in to a powder.

My hens did not skip a beat. They ate the pellets and wasted much less.

I still feed my bantams crumbles. I think the pellets are too big for them.

The farm store always pushed the crumbles. I guess they know chickens waste it too.

I tried crumblesonce and was amazed how quikly I had to buy more. I would never do crumbles again! Pellets last much longer, are not wasted, and a hungry chicken will eat them eventually if that's all they have
