I can't speak for everyone, but I would not have been offended it your comment was directed at me.I think you guys are right. I think my anxiety overcame me and I got quite angry at the bloke @Dragonflys who was only trying to help. I think I am a bit nervous for it as my kids really wanted a chick as it is in lockdown and also i wanted a to get blue orpingtons but I did something really stupid. I hate how the chick died because of me, if I had just left it, it would have been hatched right now. I would like to apologise to @Dragonflys for being so rude to it and I would like to apologise to anyone else who is offended. I think the chick has now died and I wont be getting any others either because they werent even fertilised. So my kids will be disappointed as I am so stupid. Sorry again for any offence.
Sorry about your chick. Don't beat yourself up. It happens. This could be an excellent learning lesson for your children. Not every chick is going to hatch, and not every hatch is going to be healthy. That's why hens lay so many eggs. If they lose a clutch, they try again. In this case you are the "hen" and you can try again.
Believe me, this is MUCH better than your kids seeing a nest box of rabbit kits that were eaten by mom because something wasn't right with the kits or with the mom.
