Cull barred rock cockerels

At what age is the best time to cull my barred rock cockerels to get the best meat. I don't plan on keeping any of these. Currently all in the flock with the pullets. I have a grow out pen I can use if they get rowdy
.
 
Generally 16 to 20 weeks. You may get more meat when they are older, but the older the tougher.
 
Rule of thumb that I've read, and proven once, is:
under 16 weeks - grill, bake, roast, etc
over 16 weeks - cook low and slow.

Oh and don't expect much meat like a grocery chicken, and it will have more 'tooth'.
