I recently read on here a culling method using vinegar and baking soda for chicks. Can you use this method for a 1 year old hen?

That sounds like it'd take an awful lot of vinegar, and if the concentration's too low it'd amount to torture. You could use a CO2 cartridge and a bike tire inflator (~$10). Cut a valve off of an old bicycle tube, tape it to a bag/shroud of some sort...

I dunno. A sharp knife across the neck, then through the roof of the mouth, seems more humane to me than asphyxiation. I've had to gas labrats and lizards: watching them shudder and gasp for air for 2+ minutes is still plenty distressing (though certainly cleaner).

Isn't this in the wrong section?

I'd never ever recommend any liquid or gas to use though.

sorry I guess I did post this in the wrong section. Ooops, new website.

I was just curious if it would work. Doesn't sound like something I would try. Thank you for your answers!
